Global money transfer company MoneyGram and CUP International, a Chinese credit card provider, have expanded their emergency cash service for China Union Pay (CUP) credit cardholders which now enables account holders to access emergency funds from most countries within the MoneyGram network.

So far, the service has only been available in 20 countries. The initiative provides CUP credit cardholders with global support, convenience and access to funds during an emergency. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), a China-based banking organization, was the first bank to offer CUP credit card holders with this emergency cash service. Now, CUP is offering its emergency cash service through other major bank partners to support its credit card customers around the globe.

The two companies have revealed plans to offer this critical service to other banks in the future.

In recent news, MoneyGram has signed an agreement with Intesa San Paolo Bank, a financial institution in Bosnia-Herzegovina and the pan European region, to provide international money transfer services at the bank’s branch locations throughout the country.
