MoneyGram International, Societe Generale extend agreement

Global payment services company MoneyGram International has expanded its agreement with French financial services provider Societe Generale.

As part of the deal, MoneyGram will enable the Societe Generale international retail banking network of 3,800 branches in 37 countries to offer money transfer services to customers. For those subsidiaries that are not yet able to provide money transfer services, the agreement will allow MoneyGram to assist the Societe Generale locations to offer the service.

The global agreement is an extension of the two companies’ partnership in Albania, Ghana, Russia, Mayotte and Reunion.

The MoneyGram International global network includes over 227,000 agent locations in more than 190 countries and territories. In a recent development , MoneyGram has entered an agreement with Vietnam-based financial institution DongA Bank to make its money transfer kiosk service available in the country.
