Global technology services provider NCR has signed an agreement with security technology developer McAfee.

Under the terms of the deal, NCR and McAfee have developed a new version of Solidcore Suite for APTRA integrated with the McAfee ePO software to provide ATMs with network visibility and automation. NCR is set to offer Solidcore Suite for APTRA to its financial services customers who currently use the McAfee ePO software within their organizations for security management.

NCR’s Solidcore Suite for APTRA is a multivendor ATM software security service featuring a centralized management that blocks the introduction of unauthorized code to an ATM and protects the system against insider attacks. The software also offers USB protection for ATMs.

NCR’s SelfServ ATMs include a protected USB architecture within the ATM which prevents the fraudulent connection of unauthorized USB devices.

According to a report from Javelin Strategy & Research, the total cost of the payment industry fraud is USD 54 billion and more than 11 million people globally are affected by it.

NCR was the first ATM manufacturer to achieve PA-DSS validation for its global APTRA software applications.
