NFC Forum rolls out publication on NFC Smart Posters

The NFC Forum, a non-profit industry association whose aim is to advance the use of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, has published a white paper on developing and deploying NFC Smart Posters.

Via the new white paper, the NFC Forum intends to encourage businesses and consumers to implement and use NFC Smart Posters. NFC Smart Posters are objects in/on which readable NFC tags have been placed and can be used by retailers, transport agencies, financial services companies, museums, health care providers and other.

Several NFC Forum members are expected to present the recently-published white paper covering NFC technology at the upcoming WIMA event in Monaco.

NFC is a wireless connectivity technology that enables two-way interactions between electronic devices. The NFC technology allows consumers to perform contactless transactions, access digital content and connect devices. NFC is compatible with contactless cards and readers already deployed worldwide. The NFC Forum was launched in 2004 by mobile communications, semiconductor and consumer electronics companies.

In recent news , the NFC Forum has added 32 new members including Google, media outlet nearfieldcommunicationsworld.com reports.
