Under the terms of the deal, PayGo’s software as a service is expected to be integrated into SmartSynch’s SmartMetering offering.
PayGo’s system is set to provide participating utilities with prepaid electric services for their customers. Thus, with PayGo, customers can call the utility provider in order to recharge, reload their account via mobile phones or via a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), as well as make online payments or recharge at various retail outlets.
In addition, PayGo’s technology is expected to alert both the customer and the utility company when credit needs to be added to a customer’s account to enable continued electric service.
