PBS is prepared for SEPA direct debits

Monday 2 November 2009 09:35 CET | News

Danish payment cards, payment services and secure digital data communication services provider PBS has announced that it is ready for the delivery of a full service SEPA direct debit solution to 94 national local and regional banks, starting 2 November 2009.

PBS provides services for financial institutions when combining a SEPA-compliant direct debit product with additional services, such as surveillance facilities and interactive information. In June 2008, PBS selected payment services provider Clear2Pays Open Payment Framework (OPF), a library of component building blocks built on a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to power its SEPA solutions.

”We can help Danish as well as foreign banks to become SEPA compliant. With a PBS in-a-box solution, we make it easy for banks to handle their customers’ euro payments,” according to Per Terp, Director, International Payments, PBS A/S. SEPA Direct Debit is a pan-regional cross-border direct debit instrument that aims to provide clients with a means to collect high volume payments in Europe.

In other news, PBS teamed up with the Danish banks to develop a text message service which will be launched in 2010.
