Indian payment services provider Prizm Payments has reached USD 50 billion milestone in 2012, up from USD 35 billion in 2011.

Prizm is now powering 30,000 POS (Point of Sale) devices across India and more than 10,000 ATMs have been built, managed and maintained by the company. Prizm’s POS platform now processes mobile payments for deliveries. The company is currently planning to expand its offerings to include mobile card readers. This mobile card reader will work on iOS and Android smartphones and will provide a way for debit and credit cards to be processed at any point of purchase.

Prizm is also working toward a future that enables a convergence of ATM and mobile phones, in which money can be transferred from and between customer accounts using mobile devices, thereby capturing a portion of the lucrative domestic and international financial transfers market. Prizm is also planning to roll out an e-commerce platform for small businesses in India and is actively partnering with websites that serve the Indian market.

Founded in 2008, with funding led by Sequoia Capital, Prizm has focused on the cycle of financial transactions, from point of sale (POS) machines to ATMs and now is broadening its services to online and mobile payments.
