Prodigy Payment Systems updates Clear Charge with Check 21 capabilities

Friday 31 July 2009 13:17 CET | News

US electronic payment processing services provider Prodigy Payment Systems has added Check 21 capabilities to its Clear Charge POS software.

When installed on a computer, the PCI and PED compliant Clear Charge has the functionalities of a payment processing terminal, as it can process credit, debit, checks, EBT and gift and loyalty cards. Check 21 services enable merchants, corporations and banks to remit Check 21 items. The Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act (or Check 21 Act) is a United States federal law which allows the recipient of a paper check to create a digital version, thereby eliminating the need for further handling of the physical document.

Prodigy Payment Systems plans to also add internal reporting features to the application.
