Pulse, a subsidiary of Discover Financial Services, and US-based financial institution Busey Bank have extended their alliance to include PIN point-of-sale, or POS, debit and ATM services.

The expanded agreement allows Busey customers to pay at retail POS terminals across the US through Pulse PAY and gain access to a nationwide network of more than 380,000 ATMs. Busey will also use two additional Pulse services including the Pulse Debit Dashboard, a web-based application which allows the bank to analyse the performance of its debit program and DebitProtect, a fraud detection system, which helps combat debit card fraud.

Pulse and Busey have been partners since 2005. The bank is first Busey Corporations wholly-owned subsidiary and manages 43 banking centers. In recent news, Busey Bank has selected Vantiv, a provider of payment strategies and technology for financial institutions and businesses worldwide, to provide merchant bank payment acceptance services to its commercial banking customers in the country.
