UK-based financial services provider Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has launched SEPA Direct Debits (SDD) via Bankline, RBS’s online banking service for UK clients, media outlet financial-i.com reports.

Starting December 2010, RBS has worked with various clients to bring this offering to market, such as UK-based Bacs processing company Harlands Services and UK business SMS suppliers Esendex. As a result, both companies can now offer a SEPA Direct Debit service throughout Europe, the source indicates.

SEPA Direct Debit is a pan-regional cross-border direct debit instrument that aims to provide clients with a means to collect high volume payments in Europe.
