State Savings Bank of Ukraine, OpenWay complete contactless project

Financial institution State Savings Bank of Ukraine (Oschadbank) and OpenWay, a payment processing framework for banks and processors, have completed a project to certify Visa PayWave and MasterCard PayPass contactless card acquiring.

The bank has revealed plans to expand the contactless payment acceptance network across the country. By 2015, Oschadbank intends to more than double its payment card issuing volume from 1.8 million to 5 million.

Oschadbank has also revealed its intentions to begin a project for issuing contactless cards on the based on WAY4. OpenWay’s WAY4 system target banks, processing companies and telecom operators, allowing them to create card and account-based debit and credit products and loyalty programs, manage ATMs, PoS terminals, kiosks, as well as web, mobile and other delivery channels.
