Swiss global provider of integrated core banking systems Temenos has signed Indian microfinance specialist Equitas to its T24 Model Bank packaged core banking software.

The deployment of T24 is part of Equitas’ expansion strategy across India. Equitas has selected T24 for Microfinance and Community Banking (T24 for MCB) in a bid to support and automate its operations from a single platform. The Temenos services team is set to work jointly with Equitas to implement T24 for MCB on IBM Power P6 servers and a jBASE database. The system is scheduled to go live in Q3 2009.

Established in 2007, Equitas provides financial support for consumers who are unable to access financial services from the mainstream banks in India.
