Volksbank International taps cards, POS and ATM management services from SIA-SSB

Austrian financial services provider Volksbank International has concluded a five-year framework agreement with technology services provider for financial institutions SIA-SSB.

Under the deal, SIA-SSB is set to provide issuing and acquiring services via a centralized platform for the management of Volksbank’s credit and debit cards in nine Central and Eastern European countries: Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Romania, Ukraine and Serbia.

Arounf 600 outlets in the Volksbank network are expected to use SIA-SSBs technology infrastructure in order to manage credit and debit cards payment operations. SIA-SSB is to take charge of the entire authorisation process, as well as provide ATM and POS terminals, clearing and settlement services and anti-fraud monitoring.

The first banks to implement the new authorisation, clearing and settlement management platform are Magyarországi Volksbank in Hungary and Volksbank Romania.
