German-based savings banks Kyffhäusersparkasse and Kreissparkasse Nordhausen have both extended their existing service contracts with Wincor Nixdorf, a global provider of transaction and payment services for the banking and retail markets.

Under terms of the agreement, Wincor Nixdorf’s subsidiary Prosystems IT will provide remote monitoring, fault detection and resolution to both German savings banks for a total of 141 installed self-service systems.

In January 2011, Wincor Nixdorf has established a joint venture with Germany-based electronic payment services provider Giesecke & Devrient to develop security technologies for authenticating and processing banknotes.
